Seeing Through Death Into Life is a firsthand account of Verona's intense journey through the death of her husband from leukemia. Deeply reflective yet down-to-earth, this story inspires readers to find courage when life pulls the ground out from under them. Rylander speaks with unwavering honesty of her fear, ambivalence, anger, grief, and loneliness, and her eventual emergence into new identity and purpose. Along the way she illuminates the challenges of contemporary medicine, explores the potential of post-religious spirituality, and navigates the creative tension between freedom and love.
