Poetry. The sixth book in a series representing the life's work of the poet, Douglas Blazek. Cover artwork by the author.
"Douglas Blazek's net is so broad, his inventiveness so bounding, his marriage of idiosyncrasy and universality so purely astonishing, it leaves the reader more than a little breathless to a book's worth at once. But that's the vertigo we want from poems."—Jane Hirshfield

Douglas Blazek (born 1941) is a poet who affected American letters during the 1960s as a publisher and major force in "underground", i.e., non-mainstream press poetry. Blazek authored and edited 35 publications and appeared in over 1,300 periodicals since 1961 and is recognized as one of the founders of the "Mimeo Revolution"—a literary publishing movement through which he was instrumental in bringing non-establishment poets such as Charles Bukowski to the limelight. In 1984, dissatisfied with his accomplishments, Blazek vowed not to further seek further publication until he had acquired the powers that would, as he stated, "drive my work to ultimate ripeness." The author proceeded to enter a process of intense rewriting of virtually every previously published poem while continuing to write new poetry. In 2012, after nearly 35 years, a series of new books of poetry by Douglas Blazek are now being published by Edition Muta—representing the author's complete revisioning accomplished through a decades-long process of re-writing, repeatedly, year after year, the original versions.
