About the Author
I've always had a love for American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture. I was introduced to ASL by my Deaf brother at the tender age of 4. ASL is such a beautiful language, and I aim to help bridge the gap between the Deaf and hearing world by offering tools that promote awareness and increase fluency. After achieving a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of New Orleans, and an assistant coaching position at his alma mater, Kentrell found himself constantly longing to reconnect with his ASL roots. He enrolled in an Interpreter training program hoping to accomplish this objective. Later, Shelly's Adventures was born! The publications are unique because they tell a story while incorporating ASL. Kentrell's ultimate goal is to turn the series into animation and live action. When he is not immersed Shelly's Adventures operations, Kentrell enjoys writing, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends. He is married and has two handsome sons.

I personally feel this book resonates with children of all age groups and adults too can benefit from reading this. Many a time adults and bigger children are also ignorant when it comes to such things that are prevalent in our society. This book illustrates all the commonly used signs. So it is easy to use it as a beginning to understand our children with special needs. Though educational, the author has deftly made it a fun read with all the illustrations. Every scene is conveyed with pictures.
