Synopsis
Shelly's Adventures offers unique and fun-filled educational resources that incorporate American Sign Language (ASL) while telling a story. In "Shelly Goes to the Zoo", the second title of the 20-book series, Shelly and her friends spend a day with animals. About the Author
I've always had a love for American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture. I was introduced to ASL by my Deaf brother at the tender age of 4. ASL is such a beautiful language, and I aim to help bridge the gap between the Deaf and hearing world by offering tools that promote awareness and increase fluency. After achieving a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of New Orleans, and an assistant coaching position at his alma mater, Kentrell found himself constantly longing to reconnect with his ASL roots. He enrolled in an Interpreter training program hoping to accomplish this objective. Later, Shelly's Adventures was born! The publications are unique because they tell a story while incorporating ASL. When he is not immersed Shelly's Adventures operations, Kentrell enjoys writing, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends. He is married and has two handsome sons.

Parents and children can learn sign language while they read, making this a very interactive means to learn about sign language. Parents and children can use what they learn in this book to develop further games later on with the sign language they learn. Illustrator Marco Luperon accompanies the story with cute, instructional pictures throughout the book that enhance charm of the storyline. This book is such a great learning tool for all children that I highly recommend buying these books. It is education and learning at its very BEST!
