The Adventures of DJ Spoon and Missy is a novel of illustrated cartoons about a teenage disc jockey (Spoon) and his side-kick Rottweiler dog, (Missy) who travel through various communities across the country, helping kids solve problems in a positive way. In the communities and neighborhoods that they visit, there is usually a situation that kids have a hard time solving or dealing with. Spoon usually tries to help by mediating and brainstorming with his newfound friends, then uses his Magical Turntables “One and Two” to play songs with infectious chants to reinforce and teach the lessons learned from the ordeal that his newfound friends encountered. When Spoon uses his turntables to “scratch the record”, extraordinary powers are disbursed, and the right solution to the problems immediately follows. His dog, Missy, carries a saddle bag of records on her back, with records, songs, and beats that her owner, DJ Spoon, summons when it is time to solve the problem at hand. Once the problem is solved, then it’s on to the next community to help the kids there with a new problem. Some of the issues that DJ Spoon and Missy will help solve are: Bullying, Homework, Drugs, Nutrition, Respect, Cultural Differences, etc...

About the Author:
Terrance E. Menefee is a pre-kindergarten through eighth grade principal and an adjunct college professor in Cleveland, Ohio. Terrance has always been fond of all types of music genres, in particular though, hip-hop. As a teenager, in the mid eighties and early nineties he was a local dee-jay and rapper. His love for music and his passion for child development and positive peer relationships inspired him to write the first of many Adventures of DJ Spoon and Missy novels. Terrance currently resides in Northeast, Ohio and has a daughter, Taia. This book is dedicated to my grandparents: Fred and Martha Johnson and Lee Ernest and Leola Menefee (deceased). I would also like to dedicate it to my mother, Cynthia and Father, Edward.
