Emma Fraser-Pendleton is a life coach, motivational speaker, author, ordained Minister, and former Assistant Superintendent of Schools. She is a former Project Director for Turnaround for Children, where she worked in the most challenging schools in New York City.

Emma is the recipient of several prestigious scholarships. In l989, she was awarded an academic Fellowship to the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Ford Foundation fellowship to continue her studies at Harvard. At Harvard she served as a teaching fellow, and member of the faculty, and was a noted panelist on the International Forum of Changing Trends in Education.
Highlights of her career include: Designing and implementing a self-esteem program for women living in shelters; the Woman of Wisdom Award, Delta Sorority, 2010; Distinguished Black Women Award, BISA, 2009; the Barnes Historical Society and Queens Legend Award in 2004. In addition, Emma has also received the E.C. Reems Women s International Ministries Award and in 2005, The Hugh O Brien Youth Leadership Award.

Jerry Craft is a children s book writer, illustrator and the creator of Mama s Boyz, an award-winning comic strip that has been distributed by King Features Syndicate since 1995. He is one of the few syndicated African-American cartoonists in the country.
He has won four African American Literary Awards for best comic strip (2012, 2011, 2009 & 2004). Jerry has published three books based on his comic strip, illustrated 10 children s books and has had his work appear in Essence Magazine, Ebony, comic books, greeting cards, book covers, board games, transit ads and two Chicken Soup for the African American Soul books. He has also written and illustrated two novels: The Offenders: Saving the World After Serving Detention (middle grade) and Positive Force (Young Adult).
Jerry is the former editorial director of the Sports Illustrated for Kids website. When he is not at his drawing table, he teaches kids his cartooning and illustration techniques at schools and libraries across the country.
