Synopsis

Are you or someone you love living with mysterious pain? Have you been told that it's "all in your head?" Have you exhausted all medical options, and come to understand that covering up pain with pharmaceuticals is no solution and creates bigger problems? Do you refuse to believe “you’re going to have to learn to live with it,” and have the pioneering spirit to seek an authentic healing approach that addresses the source of your pain? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this book is for you. Pain continues to be the number one reason people visit the doctor. According to the American Academy of Pain Medicine, pain affects more Americans than diabetes, heart disease and cancer combined. Millions of people wonder why their chronic pain seems to have no cause. Medical tests and evaluations reveal nothing. What the tests can’t show and is often at the root of chronic pain is force and tension in the connective tissue known as the fascia system. Reducing Pain, Restoring Balance provides a clearer understanding of why we have pain, the make-up of the fascial system and why its imbalance is at the root of a majority of pain issues, why myofascial release therapy (MFR) is an effective therapy for treating fascial imbalance, and how you can do it at home. Myofascial release therapy (MFR) directly addresses the fascial system and gets to the source of pain. With an understanding of the interdependence of the body and how it truly functions - not as separate parts but as a dynamic whole - you can help facilitate the healing process at home. Written by a physical therapist practicing for 30 years, Reducing Pain, Restoring Balance is the beginning of a healing journey. More than two dozen hands-on techniques, demonstrated with photos, gently release the restricted fascial tissue to help reduce or even eliminate stubborn pain issues. Through a consistent approach, myofascial release therapy (MFR) not only reduces your pain over time, you will find it does a whole lot more - it restores a sense of peace and quality of life you've been longing for.
