About the Author

Nancy Powichroski Sherman has been a teacher for over forty years, but a writer since she was old enough to sit at her bedroom window and imagine. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where she taught composition, literature, and theatre for thirty-two years in the Baltimore County Public School system. Though retired from this full-time position, she continues her career as an educator teaching an online course she designed for Stevenson University.

When not grading papers, Nancy finds that there are more stories than there are days in a year to write them. Currently, she is juggling several writing projects, including collaboration on a young adult novel that is scheduled for publication in 2015. Her new collection of short stories, SANDY SHORTS, has just been published by Cat & Mouse Press.  Currently, it is available at bookstores in the coastal towns of Maryland, Delaware, and southern New Jersey, as well as being available through Amazon.com.  Her other published works include "The Sound of a Tree Falling" and "The Gypsy Heart" (Delaware Beach Life magazine) and "Why Your Trashed Vera Wang" and "No Magic Words" (The Beach House anthology). She lives in coastal Delaware with her husband Matthew and two Bichon Frises, Pookie and Zoey. Nancy is a member of the Rehoboth Beach Writers' Guild.
