Roan Rickard is a Christian author who came to Christian faith as an undergraduate in the spring of 1973. He then changed his major to philosophy to facilitate his personal quest to understand God and decode biblical scripture. He spent his adult life seeking God, studying scripture, discussing philosophical, spiritual and theological ideas with many fine people from all over the world. God has granted him a measure of spiritual discernment and blessed his search for God and a clear understanding of those spiritual ideas with which so much of mankind struggles. Roan is a sinful man and claims no special piety. However, he walks with God as a man can in this life, as Enoch walked with God. Roan grew up in Jackson, Michigan, attended Michigan State University and has lived most of his adult life in the Northern Virginia area. He grew up unchurched. When he came to faith in Christ as an 18 year old it shocked him that Jesus was in fact the Son of God just as it shocked the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus. Currently, Roan is not affiliated as a declared member of any specific church but he spent most of his adult life a member of the churches of Christ. By extraordinary circumstances, crafted by the hand of God, God placed Roan in the church of Christ when he was a senior in college that he might have a body of bible studying believers in which to learn and grow. After many years God then took him beyond what could be learned within that Christian subculture. God granted Roan the understanding and knowledge of Himself, an understanding beyond intellectuality. Roan then felt compelled to write and express as well as he could the substance of that which God permitted him to learn. The Spirit of God informed his understanding of God and scripture. How could he not attempt to share such a gift?
