From the Inside Flap:
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. My mother was one of those women. In fact, she was a three-time breast cancer survivor, who battled the disease for 37 years. When the fourth round of cancer found its way into her lungs and bones, I decided to wage my own war against breast cancer. A cure will only be found through research, and research costs money. I created this IN THE TUB as a vehicle to raise money for breast cancer research, with all of my personal profits going to the cause. To that end, for the past two years I have been asking my actor, musician, model and artist friends to strip down and jump in the tub so that I could shoot their portraits. In turn, many of my friends told their friends to strip down and jump in. I'm proud to say that over 150 people have taken the plunge in all. Each participant posed for free. They all have their own stories about how breast cancer either directly or indirectly has touched their lives. It's a passion project not only for me, but for every person I've captured in the tub. -TJ Scott
