About the Author:

Jennifer Maher has 20+ years experience working in the nonprofit industry, having served on the senior leadership team as vice president marketing and corporate relations for Make-A-Wish America, director of national corporate relations for the YMCA of the USA, and director of marketing & communications for a local Y. Maher specializes in corporate relations, marketing, communications, membership, fundraising and resource development. In 2008, Maher founded The Cause Academy, a marketing agency specializing in marketing and corporate/cause relations. Maher serves a president and chief cause coach, having provided training and consultative services to dozens of nonprofit and for-profit clients. To stay active in the grassroots of the industry, Maher also remains a part-time employee with The Nature Conservancy, negotiating its California corporate marketing and media partnerships. Prior to working in the nonprofit industry, Maher served as the creative director for an event sponsorship and production firm, and was in corporate management and sales for Marriott Corporation. Jennifer is an author, public speaker, trainer, consultant, wife and mother of two. She is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in Political Science—Asian Studies and a minor in Mandarin Chinese. She lives with her family in Scottsdale, Arizona.
