HOBO PETE and the GHOST TRAIN Nestled deep in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, there’s a sleepy little town by the name of Carbon Hollow. Unless you are from the area, you probably never heard of it. After all, nothing of consequence ever happens in Carbon Hollow. Although, there was this one-year the town folks will never forget. It was in the spring of 1963 when Andy, Matt and Ben, three young boys from Carbon Hollow, began hearing trains pass in the night. No one else heard the trains, just them. Or so they thought. The boys supposedly being the only ones who heard the trains was disturbing. But, even stranger was the fact that no tracks ran through Carbon Hollow and, every time they heard the trains, someone died. Living in a cave outside of Carbon Hollow was an old man that town folks had nicknamed “Hobo Pete.” The old man had secrets, many of which he preferred no one ever knew. One such secret was of the nightmares that he had of a Ghost Train. Every night, the train with its evil conductor would come to Pete in his dreams. The conductor was determined to have Pete as a passenger, but the old man knew what boarding the train meant, after all, only dead people rode that train. Climb aboard and learn the secrets of Hobo Pete, of how he silenced the Ghost Train, and what became of the boys from Carbon Hollow. All Aboooooaaaaaard! A story that can be enjoyed be people of all ages. In addition to the cover artwork this book is highlighted with seventeen detailed illustrations in black–and-white by original artist, Henry David Potwin. More of Mr. Potwin’s artwork can be found and purchased at www.HenryDavidPotwin.com. The Hobo Pete and the Ghost Train series of books offers an inspirational line of stories for young and older readers worldwide. The tales of hardships and successes in life offer everyone the chance to meet Hobo Pete and his friend and mortal contact, Ben, as they journey into solving serious and heart-wrenching problems. The initial series consists of six books beginning in Carbon Hollow, a small town where miracles of sorts begin to unfold as the Ghost Train signals impending doom for those who hear it. The books share stories of danger and excitement as well as opening a spirit-world dimension that lends itself to electronic game applications. The locations and levels of play are unlimited. The Ghost Train and its characters are both frightened and victimized by the evil conductor who has the mission of collecting the dead. The battle that Hobo Pete and Ben begin in the first book continues with ever-increasing intensity and mysterious aspects while children and adults alike are drawn into this journey. Since the series shares stories from Topeka, Beijing, Havana, Harlem and other international locations, the books will be published in the corresponding languages as well as English. Printed copies, on-line editions, comic-book distribution, electronic gaming, action figure characters and commemorative trains allow Hobo Pete and the Ghost Train series a powerful entrance into the market. The five-million current, former and related railroad industry markets is the first step into an even larger railroad passenger audience worldwide. There are not many persons on the planet that are not directly affected by the mere existence of a train. We invite you to read Hobo Pete and the Ghost Train by e-mailing Sandy@SandyPheat.com . There are many opportunities to join in on the journey of the Ghost Train. E-mail Hobo Pete and join in on the fun! All Aboooooaaaaaard!

About the Author:

The author, who uses the pseudonym “Sandy Pheat”, is a Houston, Texas resident and has lived in many parts of the world. His love of children and trains and the never-ending challenges of the people in need, inspire him to write Hobo Pete and the Ghost Train series. Sandy Pheat. Much of what we know of Sandy is from old folk lore and other talk “about town.” Like the mysteries surrounding the adventures of Hobo Pete in “Hobo Pete and the Ghost Train” we have to assume that Sandy has always been there to root for the underdog, prefers good over evil, and endeavors to be a contribution verses a burden to society. Something we can be sure of is that this Texas native author intends for the literary benefits of this book to be a gift to young people and families everywhere. “Just as with a parent’s child, a fond memory always comes with a pair of sandy feet.”
