This is the 10th Anniversary Edition of Susan Branch's twelfth cooking and lifestyle book, newly published - with a ribbon bookmark - by Spring Street Publishing, a new printing to replace the original edition (now out-of-print) which was published by Little Brown & Co. in 2004. Handwritten and watercolored in the charming style of Susan Branch, this book celebrates the wonderfulness that is Autumn not only with delicious easy-to-make family favorites such as Cinnamon Ice Cream, Touchdown Chili, Corn Pudding, and Pumpkin Cheesecake, but you will literally feel and see the leaves falling on her pages while Susan shares her special insights and stories for Woods-Walking, Entertaining, Decorating, Halloween, and Afternoon Tea. And so much more.

Susan Branch was born in Southern California but was drawn to New England since childhood. She calls her 1849 home on the Massachusetts island of Martha's Vineyard her "heart magnet." She is the oldest of eight children and inspired by "almost everything." Her hand-lettered and watercolored Heart of the Home series of books are a reflection of the things she loves to celebrate, the home-arts of cooking, gardening, homemaking, family, best friends, entertaining, and the little things that make life sweet. Her newest book, A FINE ROMANCE ~ Falling in Love with the English Countryside, is a diary of her two-month jaunt through the back roads of England in search of her literary and artistic roots. It's filled with the little details, both in words and pictures, that readers have grown to love in Susan's books. Susan has a large and loyal following on her blog at susanbranch.com.
Inspired by my daily walk through the color-dappled woods to the sea, birds winging their way south, woodsmoke on the wind, leaves turning and drifting from the trees, I hand-lettered and watercolored AUTUMN in my studio, with the glorious harvest as my inspiration in the kitchen. (Cooking is the perfect way to keep the house warm!) Here is the delicious result: easy recipes that will inspire you to light the candles, build a fire, bring over some friends and get cozy with Touchdown Chili, Corn Pudding, Sesame Ginger Shrimp, Harvest Stew, Wild Mushroom Ragout, Turkey in the Straw, Cranberry Apple Crisp, Cinnamon Ice Cream, Gingerbread Cake and Oktoberfest Pumpkin Cheesecake. Mmmmm I'm hungry just writing about it! There's lots of other stuff, too: crafts you can make, creative ideas for entertaining and decorating, celebrations for Thanksgiving and Halloween and fun tips for friends and family and you. It comes with Love from the Heart of the Home, and me, Susan Branch.
