As a career research scientist, VCS alumni parent, and member of Valley Christian s AMSE (Applied Math, Science, and Engineering) Advisory Board, I have seen the remarkable impact of Dr. Clifford Daugherty's vision for American education. In The Quest Continues, he outlines the foundational principles and values that have driven educational excellence at Valley Christian Schools, and reveals how applying the 'self-evident truths' of our Founding Fathers can restore excellence and transform K 12 education throughout America. It is a must-read for educators and parents. --Bruce Roth, Ph.D. in Synthetic Chemistry Inventor of Lipitor 2008 American Chemical Society Hero of Chemistry; 2013 American Chemical Society Medicinal Chemistry Division Hall of Fame; 2013 Perkin Medal from the Society of Chemical Industry.
Our partnership with the Quest Institute for Quality Education enriches our entire neighborhood community. Andrew Hill High School is honored to serve with Valley Christian Schools to provide mentors who tutor and enhance the lives of elementary school students through the Junior University and Lighthouse Initiative. Our partnership promotes joy and learning, and hundreds of students are inspired to higher achievement. We are dedicated to continue seeing our neighborhood community grow this passion. --Bettina Lopez, Principal, Andrew P. Hill High School East Side Union High School District, San Jose, California
Dr. Daugherty's book, The Quest Continues, describes the journey that opened the door for public schools and private Christian schools to collaborate and create a mentoring program to enrich the lives of all our students. Dr. Daugherty is a true creative spirit who found ways within the legal system to bring 'goodness, peace, and joy' to our schools and enrich the lives of our students, no matter their background. Through the work of Dr. Daugherty and the Junior University program, elementary students are mentored by high school students from both Valley Christian Schools and Andrew Hill High School. The 'Splish! Splash!' program provides swimming lessons, friendship, and guidance to our students. It is wonderful to observe our younger students learn to swim while being supported socially and mentally by the broader community. As principal of a public school, I applaud the work of a great leader, Dr. Daugherty, who continues to amaze me with his dedication and perseverance as he leads us on the journey to spread 'goodness, peace, and joy' as part of our teaching and learning. I feel honored to be part of this team of educators, who go above and beyond the classroom experience. --Dr. Maria Dehghanfard, Principal, Lairon College Preparatory Academy Franklin McKinley School District, San Jose, California
