Myung Chill Kim was born in Korea in 1942. The seventh child of eleven, he has lived with martial arts his entire life. He fought in the Vietnam War and served as a Tae Kwon Do and close-combat instructor for the elite Korean Tiger Troops. He moved to the United States in 1970 and opened the Tiger Tae Kwon Do School in Virginia. His first book, Acupuncture for Self-Defense, was published in 1971. From 1977 to 1979, he worked on the Alaska Pipeline as a security officer. Then he became an Officer of the Peace in New York City, where he worked for the Department of Ports and Terminals as a criminal investigator at the Hunts Point Produce Market in the Bronx. Master Kim studied Western Science at several colleges, including New York City Technical College. He graduated from the Emperor’s College of Oriental Medicine in 1984 and received his degree of Doctor of Oriental Medicine in 1988 from Samra University of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles. His second book, Oriental Medicine and Cancer, was published in 1997 and his third book, Chi Gong: Medicine from God (1999), is now in its second edition. Currently, Myung Chill Kim teaches martial arts and practices Oriental Medicine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
