The story of two women who share their life-long journeys of going in-and-out of private and public mental health systems as well as the subsequent impact on their lives. By examining a multitude of possible causes for their never-ending symptoms, just about every avenue available to them was explored in order to find the primary source of their illnesses. Upon discovering their food allergies and many food intolerances, they both overcame their mental illness diagnoses...all of them.

Carolyn Marsalis holds a Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, and Human Development, is a Certified Holistic Health and Life Coach, a PeerZone USA Facilitator, a SoulCollage® Facilitator and is an Instructor at The Institute of Transformational and Transpersonal Coaching. She has developed a coaching program which is focused on regaining mental health and recovering from the effects of post traumatic stress. Carolyn served as Treasurer on the Texas Catalyst for Empowerment Board of Directors. Amy Pierce is the owner of Resiliency Unleashed Training & Consulting. She is a Certified Peer Specialist, a PeerZone USA Coordinator, an Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator, a WHAM Facilitator, and an ASIST Trainer. She began the first Peer Support Program in the Texas State Hospital System. Amy served as Chair on the Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI) Advisory Council and the Texas Catalyst for Empowerment Board of Directors. Additionally she served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Disability Rights Texas.
