Synopsis
This volume discusses the emergence of information and communication technology (ICT)-based teaching and learning during the Covid-19 pandemic as a potential alternative to traditional classroom-based learning. It presents a collection of theories, practices, and case studies from across the globe and covers different aspects of education from a multidisciplinary perspective.
While focusing on the various opportunities that surfaced while carrying out innovative experiments in the online learning space, the book discusses pedagogical challenges and the need for a shift in teaching pedagogy towards online learning. It outlines the existing learning theories, reasons behind their failure, and new theories that emerged to fill the need for new methods for delivery of content and pedagogy. The book discusses the issues faced by stakeholders, including institute administrators, students, and teachers to prepare for this new method of teaching and learning. It highlights the role of virtual laboratories in supplementing the needs of students in the remote learning environment. About the Author
Jitendra Singh is Assistant Professor in PGDAV College, University of Delhi. He is an engineering graduate in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and pursued PhD in the area of cloud computing. With a deep interest in Cloud Computing, Educational Technology, and Machine learning, he has contributed over 40 articles as principal author which are published in leading research journals and conference proceedings. In addition, he has authored three books, namely Cloud computing for beginner to researcher, Data structure simplified: implementation with C++, and Python principles and practice, all of which can be well accessed from Amazon.
Vikas Kumar received an MSc and PhD from Kurukshetra University, India, and this was followed by an MBA. Along with 15 books, he has more than 100 research papers to his credit in various national and international conferences and journals. Dr Kumar is presently serving at Central University of Haryana, India, and is a visiting professor at the Indian Institute of Management Indore and University of Northern Iowa, USA. His areas of interest include information systems, business analytics, and ICT for development.
