From the Back Cover:

Fully revised for the new LEED v4 Rating System, Sustainable Commercial Interiors, 2nd Edition is a comprehensive guide to sustainable design practices for commercial interiors. Coauthors Penny Bonda and Katie Sosnowchik, along with Summer Minchew, share their passion for environmental advocacy while offering designers and architects the philosophical and technical knowledge necessary to improve not only the indoor environment, but the world beyond the walls as well.

This second edition—organized to incorporate the LEED Green Building Rating System—offers useful discussions about best practice approaches to commercial interior design as they relate to water use, energy use, material selection, and indoor air quality. Fifteen brand new case studies have been added to demonstrate real-life examples of great green design approaches for an array of commercial projects. It also explores the latest advancements in materials, finishes and furnishings and presents a review of green design tools including standards, certification programs and other product resources. As a bonus, 13 inspiring visionaries share their unique knowledge through insightful essays.

Sustainable Commercial Interiors is based on the premise that designers, with their power to create, have a special responsibility to maintain an awareness of global sustainability issues. It presents a holistic perspective for both established and aspiring green-minded designers alike to understand the significant differences between standard interior design practice and designing for sustainability.
