About the Author

ASHISH J. THAKKAR is CEO and Founder of Mara Group, a pan-African business conglomerate that operates in 21 countries worldwide. In 2009 Ashish launched Mara Foundation, focusing on supporting emerging young African entrepreneurs. Ashish was appointed as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, and today he sits on the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on Africa. In 2014 Forbes named him one of the ten most powerful men in Africa. He lives between Uganda and Dubai.
