Fancy having your name Albenia Jump, and wanting to be a female lawyer! I am so sorry for that woman. i But, joking aside, there is something the matter with my eyes lately. Perhaps it is crying nights. But I should scorn to write in this book that I ever cry because Billy Brown is in New York while I am in Cambridge. Why should Billy be all the world to me? I have asked myself this question coldly and calmly a dozen times a day. I have asked the other girls, too, and not one of them can even imagine. Grace Avery says she likes her brothers well enough when they don't tease; but she owned up that she had never once felt like crying when either of them went away.
