This is a new printing of a volume which appeared some twelve years ago. The author, whom we never met, is remembered by many of our readers as a dynamic evangelist of the Billy Sunday type, whose sermons stirred the thousands throughout the land. Homiletically, these messages fail to make the grade; in expression and style, they are unlike any that we have printed - form is sacrificed in the interest of clearness, and it is difficult to read this language, some of which has not found room in the dictionaries, without getting the author's meaning; in doctrine, every sermon is based solidly on the Scriptures and is therefore sound. Friends of this popular evangelist who were blessed by his ministry believe that this volume has a message for our day. It is definitely different; maybe we need something to jar us out of our complacency. [Preface by John L. Hill]
