But of this hidden mystery of the resurrection of the Just, (I will say) not more just now. But you grieve, most loving little heart, that time must be expended upon the necessaries of this life? I grieve with you! But does it seem to you that you have hope in a strait, (does it seem to you) from this cause that we can perfectly serve God in this life? There is also to me (hope)! I despair not so much of the victory (how very distant although as yet I may be (therefrom)) induced (as I am)...

Johannes Kelpius (d. 1708) was a radical Pietist mystic and leader of a spiritual community near Germantown, Pennsylvania, during the early years of the eighteenth century.
