With ordinary cylinder diaphragm Iris cylinder diaphragm in place of the ordinary cylinder diaphragm „ Illuminating system No. 19 (with iris) and ordinary cylinder diaphragm „ Illuminating system No. 19 (with iris) and Iris cylinder diaphragm The great care taken in the construction of the micrometer adjust-ment of Stands VI and VII renders them available for use with the highest dry powers. These stands are hardly adapted for the use of immersion lenses, though, if particular care be taken, even ihey may be used in exceptional cases. Stands V, VI and VII cannot subsequently be fitted with rack and pinion adjustment in place of the draw tube arrangement. The priees of stands do not inelude any optieal or meehanieal parts beyond those enumerated in the above speeifieation. Suitable eombinations are eompiled at the end of the eatalogue. When using a revolving nose-piece with these smaller stands a clamping ring (Fig. 23 ea. Mk. 5.--) will be found desirable; this prevents the tube from sliding down in consequence of the weight of the nose-piece and the objectives attached thereto. The sliding objective-changer No. 25 is not suitable for use with stands VI and VII, owing to the small distance between the tube and the stage. Stand IX (Fig. 25). Simple auxiliary stand for laboratory and technical purposes. Plain large stage of 100 mm (4") dia. with large aperture, which may be decreased if required by dropping in a diaphragm.
