Originally as passed in 1857 it became unlawful for any one except on his own premises "to kill, ensnare, or trap any wild deer, elk or fawn, wild turkey, prairie hen or chicken, grouse or quail between the first day of February and the fifteenth of July,' in any year. It was amended in 1858 to read ' from the first day of January to the fifteenth dav of August," in any year.
