Not illustrated. 1841 Excerpt: ...is a eompound depression larger than tho rest, indieating the presenee of a eorresponding projeetion on the baek. Among living Cureulionidte irregular tubereles and projeetions of this kind oeeur on the thorax of the Braehyeerus apterus. The left Elytron only is distinetly visible, embraeing with its margin the side of the Abdomen; its outer surfaee is irregularly and minutely punetate. Two spinous tubereles projeet from near its posterior extremity, and a eorresponding tuberele from the extremity of the right elytron. Similar spines oeeur on the Elytrons of Braehyeerus; and of some Cureulionidre of N. Holland. The abdominal rings are very distinet. I shall designate this Inseet by the provisional name of Cureulioides Presvieii. M. Audouin exhibited at the meeting of tho Naturforseher at Bonn, in September, 1835, a beautiful wing of a neuropterus Inseet, in a nodule of elay Iron stone, apparently also from the neighbourhood of Coalbrook Dale, whieh had been purehased at the sale of Parkinson's eolleetion by Mr. Mantell, and transmitted by him to M. Brongniart. This wing is nearly three inehes long, and elosely resembles that of the living Corydalis of Carolina and Pennsylvania; it is mueh broader and nearly of the length of the wing of a large Dragon Fly. Several speeimens of this speeies are in the eolleetion of Mr. Wm. Anstiee at Madely Wood. Our figure is taken from a east or impression of the baek of the animal in Iron stone, in whieh tho transverse lines aeross the abdominal segment are not very apparent; other speeimens exhibit deep transverse fluting?, externally resembling tho separate segments of the baek of a Trilobite, but apparently not dividing the shell into more than ono abdominal Plate, nor admitting of flexure like the artieulating segments...
