Now Millbury. t Other Watertown families went to Jay, Me., at this time, Beacon $onatl)an Kainttt, (89) Of Somers, Conn., was born in Westboro', in 1755, and married Jemima Root, of Somers, Sept. 21, 1776. A few days after, leaving his young wife in care of his parents, he joined the army under Washington, and served in New York and New Jersey, until the close of the campaign of 1778, when he returned home, his family having become impoverished by the depreciation of the Continental money, for which they had exchanged their property in Westboro'. After living in Vermont a few years, he settled in Somers, Conn., where he spent the remainder of his life, and was a Deacon in the Baptist Church. He was a steady, industrious man, and was peculiarly pleasant in his family relations. One look from him was better, and had more effect, than a multitude of words. He died of typhus fever, July 31, 1801, aged 46. His widow died at her son's, in York, N. Y., Oct. 2, 1847, aged 91. FAMILY. (179) Polly, b. April 18, 1778; m. John Cooley, of Rodman, N. Y.
