Not illustrated. 1904 Excerpt: ...Ct.; died 28 April, 1777, in Sharon, Ct.; married about 1747, Katharine, daughter of Matthias,4 Jr., and Elizabeth St. John, who was a great-granddaughter of Abigail' (7) Marvin, born 13 Nov., 1729, in Norwalk; died 18 March, 1783, "in her 53d year" (gravestone), in Sharon. He removed to Sharon about 1750, and was selectman there in 1764.I He was living there 23 Feb., 1767, when he sold land to his brother Seth. He is called of Litchfield, Ct, in 1775, when he sold land in Sharon as administrator of his father; he owned 108)4 acres of land, and a dwellinghouse, barn, grist-mill, etc., in Sharon, when he died, as appears by the Probate rec; 21 April, 1784, John, Joseph and Betty Man-in, legal heirs and representatives of Joseph, sell land of their father, in Sharon. John, Joseph, David and Betsey Marvin sell their rights in their sister Philomela's land 6 Sept, 17S6, and are then called of Cornwall, Ct; land in Canaan, Ct, in which " Matthias and his late sister Philomela" had an interest, are referred to on the same date; Joseph's estate was finally distributed 6 May, 1784.
