"Deadest Rapper Alive" makes an eye-opening examination and social diagnosis of the Rap Music icon, Dwayne Carter a.k.a. Lil' Wayne. By studying his image, content, persona, and lyrics, Pastor Johnson makes a dire plea of warning. He proposes that the music of Wayne is actually much more than beats and lyrics, but it is a philosophy that when followed will lead to extremely dangerous consequences in the lives of Urban Youth.

Review:
A very well-written, well thought out response to the international phenomenon that is Lil' Wayne. This book does an excellent job of looking at urban culture from an ethnomusicological and EthnoDoxological point of view. One thing that definitely stands out as a positive: throughout this book, the author makes it clear that he is concerned for the youth of today due to the influence of the rise of Lil' Wayne and the spirit that his music and lyrics promote. The author also makes it clear that he is not condemning Rap or Hip Hop in general, only specific negatives that come from specific rappers/artists. In fact, he points out, hip hop is quite the spiritual medium. This book is definitely eye-opening, and I would highly recommend it. --Michael Baloneck (Music Missiologist)

Jomo Johnson has done his research. There are millions of youth being led astray by today's media and pop culture and many of them even come from Christian homes. So many parents and church leaders are clueless to the radical shifts that are happening right under our noses. Jomo helps open our eyes to one of our culture's largest influencers. The book gives some great insights on his life, his effects and what we can do to reverse the fall of urban youth around the world. --Tommy 'Urban D' Kyllonen (Pastor of Crossover Church)

This book sheds light on the epidemic that is plaguing urban youth. Johnson pays particular attention to the current state of young urban women. This is a must read for parents, youth pastors, women s ministry leaders as well as teens. With abortion rates and STD rates on the rise, Deadest Rapper Alive is definitely worth the time to read. This writing will open your eyes to the truth that has been hidden for too long. Our young women are being destroyed from a lack of knowledge. Let us be informed and arm ourselves with the knowledge Johnson provides in DRA. --Michael Baloneck (Music Missiologist)
