This book presents twenty-seven weeks of "The Golden Hour" broadcast, preached from the pulpit of the Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, Michigan, by the Rev. Charles E. Coughlin, and broadcast nationally. Primarily these broadcasts are of a religious nature. Under the patronage of the Little Flower, who passed from this world in the year 1897 and whose ambition it was to become a missionary to men, it is the main object of these sermons to lead souls back to God by preaching the moral virtue of religion which disposes men to give to God the worship that is due Him as the Supreme Lord of all. Father Coughlin was a controversial Canadian-born Roman Catholic priest and one of the first religious-political leaders to use radio to reach a mass audience. He died in 1979.
