Synopsis

"What are ‘soft skills’? Are they just a mix of proficient communication, leadership and personality, or are they much more than that? Soft Skills for a Flat World answers these questions by extending the definition to include attitudes such as how you relate to others, respect, patience and world view. It cites success from India and around the world with real-life leadership examples. The book delves into how a soft skills package in modern India goes beyond the conventional concepts of communication and is inclined towards the ‘state of mind’, explaining 25 soft skill lessons combined with 10 ways of thinking. A question then crops up. Why develop these soft skills? The author explains the ‘whys and hows’ of sharpening your soft skills with a simple premise that in a flat world, soft skills differentiate you and make you..YOU! Drawing inspiration from the leadership styles of current leaders and historic greats like Rabindranath Tagore, Ratan Tata, KM Birla and Mahatma Gandhi mixed in with Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Sir Richard Branson, this book promises to be a global soft skills manual."
