Writing Gifted: Academy was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had the joy of participating in. From the day I gained inspiration for the novel, to the day I confirmed its publication, it has swept me off my feet. Gifted: Academy was my venture to display a very specific set of themes in the Gifted characters. I would reveal them all here but that would spoil the novel. However, the greatest of these themes I can reveal: That of fighting for what one believes in. It seems like such a simple idea, to stand firm in ones beliefs, but in Gifted: Academy I try to prove that it is more than that. At every turn the characters are given the option to abandon their beliefs in exchange for a simple life. For peace. In some cases, for their own lives.
