Synopsis

Excerpt from What Nietzsche Taught

In this regard one should note that this interest is not the result Of a temporary popularity, such as that which has met the philosophical pieties of Henri Bergson. To the contrary, Nietzsche's renown is gaining ground daily among serious-minded scholars, and his adherents have already reached the dimensrons Of a small army. But despite this appreciation there is still current an enor mous amount Of ignorance concerning his teachings. The very manner in which he wrote tended to bring about misunderstandings. Viewed casually and without Studi ous consideration, his books Offer many apparent contra dictions. His style, always elliptic and aphoristic, lends itself easily to quotation, and because of the startling and revolutionary nature of his utterances, many excerpts from his earlier works were widely circulated through the mediums of magazines and newspapers. These quo tations, robbed of their context, very often gave rise to immature and erroneous judgments, with the result that the true meaning of his philosophy was Often turned into false channels. Many of his best-known aphorisms have taken on strange and unearthly meanings, and Often the reverse Of his gospel has, gained currency and masquer aded as the original canon.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the teachings of Friedrich Nietzsche, a revolutionary philosopher whose ideas continue to challenge and inspire thinkers today. Nietzsche's philosophy is a complex and multifaceted system, but at its core is the concept of the "superman," a higher evolutionary form of humanity that embodies strength, creativity, and a profound love of life. Through Nietzsche's writings, we encounter his critique of traditional morality, his exploration of the will to power as the fundamental drive of human nature, and his provocative insights into the meaning of existence. Nietzsche's philosophy is often misunderstood and misinterpreted, but this book provides a clear and comprehensive guide to his key ideas, illuminating their relevance to our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
