Excerpt from An Introduction to the Elements of Science
That a work should be written which might introduce students to the elements of all the sciences, has long seemed to the author of this book a thing to be desired.
Having been unable to find associates for this purpose, he has ventured to undertake it himself.
Strongly convinced that the student ought to be introduced to mental as well as to physical science, the writer has been careful not to omit the elements of psychology, logic, and philosophy, subjects which he thinks have been far too generally neglected.
