Excerpt from The Rock of Ages: Or Scripture Testimony to the One Eternal Godhead of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
The title-page of this Treatise may sufficiently indicate the line of argument I have attempted to pursue. My standard of reference throughout has been the memorable precept, Trust ye in the Lord for ever, for in the Lord Jehovah is the Rock of Ages. (isai. Xxvi. That the one Infinite God claims our supreme and undivided confidence; that the same confidence is, on the warrant of Scripture, to be reposed in the Father, and in the Son, and in the Holy Ghost; and that therefore Father, Son, and Spirit, are equally God over all, blessed for ever, the Triune Jehovah, in whose name alone we trust, on whose arm we rely, and whose majesty alone we adore and love -such is the brief outline of a train of thought indelibly impressed many years ago on my own mind.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book grapples with a fundamental question of faith: the nature of God and the role of Jesus Christ in salvation. The author, spurred by personal struggles with Scriptural contradictions, embarks on a deep exploration of biblical texts, seeking to understand the divine attributes ascribed to both the Father and the Son. The book delves into the contrasting views of Unitarians and Trinitarians, engaging with arguments from both sides. A crucial argument put forth is that the ultimate reliance of mankind should be placed on God, the Creator, rather than any mortal being. This argument stems from a careful analysis of passages highlighting the sinfulness and limitations of humanity compared to the infinite goodness and power of the Divine. Further, the author examines a central theme of the Bible: the belief in Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the Son of God, and the Redeemer. Throughout the book, the author meticulously analyzes verses that speak to the deity of Jesus Christ, challenging those who might view him as a mere exalted creature. The book's insights ultimately highlight the profound implications of understanding the nature of God for one's spiritual journey, emphasizing the importance of placing trust in the divine rather than in human beings.
