About the Author:

Washburn has been around aircraft for almost 75 years and learned to fly as a Naval Reserve in Pensacola, FL. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Forces and a member of Air Transport Command during World War II. He is retired and now lives on Edgartown, MA.
