It was agreed that the intensity should be considered in its relation to geological formations and structures, and in its rela tion to man; that the relationship between types of manifestation and the characters of transmitting formations should be studied with the object of determining the cause of relative immunity of Q certain localities and of violent destruction in others; that in the interpretation of intensity from the destruction of buildings, etc., the character of the structure should be carefully considered.
