Excerpt from Pedobaptist and Campbellite Immersions: Being a Review of the Arguments of "Doctors" Waller, Fuller, Johnson, Wayland, Broadus, and Others
Since it was at my solicitation that the author con sented that his reviews of Waller, Johnson, and Fuller, originally published in the Southern Baptist Review, might be given to the public in the form of a little book, it seems but proper for me to introduce it to the religious public.
I do this, not only cheerfully, but with a degree of pleasure seldom experienced in performing a similar office. For several reasons.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book scrutinizes the question of whether a church should acknowledge immersions performed by non-baptist ministers. Baptist churches have long debated this subject, with varying opinions among its leaders. The author thoroughly examines the arguments presented by the proponents of such immersions as valid baptism, including those of Doctors Waller, Fuller, Johnson, Wayland, Broadus, and others. The author systematically addresses each point, providing evidence from Scripture and logical reasoning to support their position that only a scripturally organized church can authorize baptism, and then by an administrator connected with such a church. Despite the varying views among Baptist leaders, the author contends that acknowledging such immersions would lead to open communion and would negate the existence of Baptist churches as distinct entities. This insightful analysis aims to bring about a consensus on this issue.
