Children may be taught to call words at sight, as well as letters. They should begin to read at the same time that they begin to learn the Alphabet, and in this way they Will probably be able to read, by rote, several pages before they have learned all their let ters. When they have completely mastered the Alphabet (but not till then), they may be required to spell the principal words in the Reading Lessons.
