He is the author of Ethics of Citizenship: Immigration and Group Rights in Germany (Duke, 1998), co-editor of From Just War to Modern Peace Ethics (De Gruyter, 2012; with Heinz-Gerhard Justenhoven), and editor of At the Limits of the Secular: Reflections on Faith and Public Life (Eerdmans, 2014).
