THE CRIMSON BROADBILL: Commercial Swordfishing the NW Atlantic

"synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title.

From the Author:

This true story, of my first job aboard a commercial swordboat, describes the risks of living and working over the deepest ocean canyons to pursue the giant swordfish. These powerful and dangerous creatures are disappearing at an alarming rate; my book offers insight into why they are vanishing and what we can do to save them.

About the Author:

Dr. Thomas Armbruster grew up near the Jersey shore and has always been fascinated with the ocean. While attending college as a marine biology major, he joined a work/study program onboard a commercial swordboat where he was required to log daily events. It was this experience, in addition to summer work as a commercial fisherman, that led to his writing "THE CRIMSON BROADBILL."

After a career change, Dr. Armbruster earned his MD and is now a practicing physician. But his love of the oceans and dedication to conservation has kept him in touch with the sea. He serves as a volunteer for a local marine mammal-stranding center, participates in NOAA's yearly shark tag and release study and enjoys SCUBA diving and fishing. In addition, he continues to seek opportunities to share his message for ocean conservation as a guest speaker.
