Khalid Nassour was just a first-year med student when he was chosen by the spirit of the sorcerer Nabu to be the new bearer of the helmet of Doctor Fate. Since then, he’s been learning about the world of magic and what it means to be a hero...but not without making a few almost deadly mistakes along the way.
But now Khalid’s long-lost great uncle has returned—Kent Nelson, the original hero known as Doctor Fate. And just in time, as Khalid’s home of New York City and his loved ones find themselves under attack by fire demons and Egyptian gods.
Now there are two Fates to protect the city but, unfortunately, the only one who can save New York is the one who still doesn’t understand his powers. Will Khalid master the helmet’s magic in time or is his career as a hero fated to end quickly?
Acclaimed storytellers Paul Levitz (LEGION OF SUPERHEROES) and Sonny Liew (THE ART OF CHARLIE CHAN HOCK CHYE) bring their critically acclaimed reinvention of Doctor Fate to an astonishing conclusion with the help of guest artists Brendan McCarthy (SHADE, THE CHANGING MAN), Inaki Miranda (CATWOMAN) and Ibrahim Moustafa (HIGH CRIMES)! Collects DOCTOR FATE #13-18.
