About the Author:
Harry W. Sorge is a licensed Master Electrician, a former contractor, foreman, journeyman, wireman, and apprentice. He became an apprentice electrician in 1977 after several corporate jobs because, as he said in the job interview, ¿I am 30 years old and I don¿t know how to do anything.¿ Following completion of an apprenticeship-training program, he began teaching electrical classes at night for the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Independent Electrical Contractors Association (IEC) while working in the field full time. Over the next fourteen years he alternately taught first year, second year, and forth year apprenticeship classes and various types of classes for licensing exam preparation, NEC changes, motor controls, services, grounding, and many other subjects. In 1996, he was asked to take over the functional operation of the apprenticeship-training program for the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the IEC. He is a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors and the National Fire Protection Association. He has served on the national committee of the IEC for first year curriculum.
