Reviews

This book is not so much a complete course in crocheting as it is an excellent reference for new and experienced stitchers. There are no patterns or designs to follow, simply a top-notch series of instructions about starting and specific stitches. This Italian import is not organized in any logical way; Irish lace motifs, like the Lancelot leaf and the eight-petal flower, for example, are discussed separately from each other with nary a cross-reference--a bit disconcerting, if not frustrating. However, the directions and full-color photographic details are truly spectacular; ideas such as ribbon borders and interlocking rings, among others, are not necessarily incorporated in other how-to books. For any age, any level. Barbara Jacobs
