About the Author:

Harry Francis Mallgrave is Professor of History and Theoryat the Illinois Institute of Technology. His l996 book GottfriedSemper: Architect of the Nineteenth Century was awarded theAlice Davis Hitchcock Award by the Society of ArchitecturalHistorians. He is also the author of Modern Architectural Theory1673–1968 published in 2005.
