My naughty little sister is stubborn, greedy, and full of mischief. She tries to cut off the cat's tail; she bites Santa's hand; and she and Bad Harry eat all the pudding at Harry's party. How much trouble can one little sister cause?

Dorothy Edwards is most famous for creating the My Naughty Little Sister character, which she dreamt up to keep her daughter quiet while on a family holiday in 1950. She went on to write five books about her naughty little sister with wide acclaim. Shirley Hughes has written and illustrated more than 200 books. Her many awards include the Kate Greenaway Medal and the Eleanor Farjeon Award. From AudioFile:
Jan Francis portrays a nameless narrator who laments the many transgressions of her little sister. This collection of stand-alone short stories is presented like a chapter book, and Francis's reading can't overcome the significant amount of repetition from story to story. In some parts, as when the little sister meets her favorite television personality or knits a scarf for the neighbor, Francis's interpretations are priceless. And her imitation of a temper tantrum is dead-on. But her emphatic tone sometimes lapses into condescension. This uneven production will leave some listeners laughing and others wanting.
