Lauren Tobia worked as an intensive-care nurse before graduating from the University of the West of England with a degree in Illustration. Review:
A double pleasure for old friends and new readers alike. * Kirkus Review * This is a joyful and affectionate portrait of a close-knit family in contemporary Africa perfectly captures the anxiety and thrill of having a new sibling, making it the ideal story for any family with a new baby, or a baby on the way. Love - and gorgeous Anna - win all hearts by the time the last page has turned... * Lancashire Evening Post * This gorgeously colourful picture book tells a simple but important tale that all older siblings will be able to relate to. -- Natasha Mac a'Bhaird * Children's books Ireland * Another joyous Anna Hibiscus picture book from Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor winner Atinuke. * CBC Children's Book Council of America * This warm, gentle story is perfect for any big brother or sister with a new sibling or two on the way. -- Natasha Mac a'Bhaird * Children's Books Ireland * The illustrations are vibrant and charming, bringing both the African setting and the loving family atmosphere to life. -- Natasha Mac a'Bhaird * Children's Books Ireland * But what shines through most is the warmth and closeness of her large extended family, which still has plenty of time and attention to give to Anna. * Publishers Weekly * Readers and listeners who meet this lively child for the first time in this universal story will likely be intrigued enough by her mixed-race family and her culturally different but oh-so-similar life to go on to other Anna Hibiscus episodes, in both picture and chapter books. * Kirkus Review *
