When a widow and retired special education teacher takes up romance writing with a quirky group of aspiring authors, she finds herself tangled in merry mayhem that suddenly turns quite deadly. She must go in search of a killer or risk becoming the group's next victim.
Daisy Arthur, alone since her husband of twenty-five years died yelling at golf on TV, is bored and lonely. So she does what any sensible woman would do--joins a romance writers' group. She's always been romantically inclined, so writing love novels should be a snap, right?
There are just a couple of problems with this plan. First, Daisy can't write so much as a creative shopping list to save her soul. Second, one of her writing colleagues, Catholic priest Rico Sanchez, has just been found dead in Colorado's Platte River. He's been murdered and members Daisy's writing group were the last to see him alive.
But there's always good news in these big life challenges, and for Daisy the good news is her chance to reengage with Gabe Caerphilly, father of one of her old students.
Gabe is single, and a police lieutenant with Littleton's finest. Daisy sees him as having definite Mr. Right potential. Unfortunately, Gabe sees her as a prime murder suspect. What's a woman to do?
Debut novelist Liesa Malik considers herself lucky to have been steeped in reading from an early age. Both parents and teachers read to her many children's classics. These tales inspired Liesa to create her own characters and stories.
Liesa's love of reading and creative writing led to work on several university newspapers before she graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in mass communications and journalism.
A member of Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, Liesa lives in Littleton, Colorado with her husband, her German shepherd, and her wonderfully cranky cat. Weekly calls with her daughter and granddaughter help keep Liesa up on new reads, and often introduce her to her next best friend--a great book.
