From the Publisher:

Wheels of Destiny: A novel of twists and turns.

Set on the rugged north-western coast of Ireland and in New York city in the nineteenth century, this story will remain with you long after you finish reading it.

The characters will become your friends, whose welfare will concern you. At the beginning of this story, we meet Sara O'Doherty, a young ten-year-old island girl, whose mother dies in childbirth. What was her mother's life for, she asks. She makes up her mind to make a stand throughout her life no matter the cost. And that cost will be very high indeed.

In Sara O' Doherty, the Irish peasant girl and in Charles Hamilton, the landlord and their son Conor, Miki Curran has created memorable characters that leap off the page.

This is a novel of twists and turns, where the characters, like those in a Greek tragedy, are destined to play their parts through to the bitter end. It will not leave you unmoved.

From the Author:

One of the most turbulent periods of Irish History, of which there were many, occurred in the middle of the nineteenth century when the population of Ireland was decimated by famine and the diseases that followed in its wake. For many, emigration was the only option. In 1889, one in ten people in New York city was Irish. (100,000 of its one million inhabitants.)In this novel, I wanted to pay tribute to the resilent people who endured the hardships of this period.
