This book is suitable for a binder. The book is written about how present-day marine falsework evolved during the 50-year career in which Harold V. Anderson participated in the design and installation work for wharves, piers, breakwaters, bridges and other marine structures for contractors. Reference data and manuals necessary for preparing design calculations are grouped together in a chapter on wharf construction and again in a chapter on bridge construction. Similarly, a compilation of sample calculations for submittal of falsework drawings are provided. Many sketches, details and photographs are included in the book to illustrate how falsework is supported over water. This includes examples of hangars, clamps, collars and every conceivable means which was used to suspend or support girts, joists and soffit materials are shown in detail. All requirements to complete a falsework design for over-water construction is included in this book. All, including some bad decisions which resulted in falsework failures, are desrcibed for the reader's benefit. No other publication has so much information on the subject.
