Rafael Fermoselle was born in Havana, Cuba, and emigrated to the United States in 1962 and graduated with a Ph.D. from American University in Washington, D. C. in 1972. For several years he had a special relationship with the US intelligence community. He is a retired U. S. Foreign Service Officer and is the author of several books and many articles on a wide variety of subjects. He was awarded the Bronze Medal of the U. S. Department of Commerce in 1998, as the Outstanding Supervisor / Manager of the International Trade Administration, and the U.S. Department of State's Superior Honor Award in June 2000. Since 2002, Dr. Fermoselle has worked as a contractor for the U.S. Department of Defense. He was a SOSA instructor at the SJFHQ (CE) T/S at US JFCOM, and participated in support of CENTCOM, in advance of the invasion or Iraq in 2003. He is a member of the SOSA cell, the Strategy, Policy and Assessments Directorate Effects Assessment Cell and the Strategic Assessments Operational Planning Team (OPT) at US EUCOM.
